On Saturday 6/13, Charlaine Harris, the author of the Sookie Stackhouse novel series about northern Louisiana’s undead, will be featured at the second Author! Author! Shreveport-Bossier Book Festival at Municipal Auditorium. After speaking at 2pm, she will be available to sign Dead and Gone, the ninth book in the series.
For over a decade, Charlaine Harris has been writing this series that recently has been turned into the HBO® hit True Blood® by Six Feet Under® creator Alan Ball. Set in the small Louisiana town of Bon Temps, True Blood® explores the struggle resulting from the invention of synthetic blood which has allowed vampires to leave behind their legendary mystery and assimilate into society as everyday citizens. While most citizens continue to be apprehensive towards their integration, local waitress and telepath Sookie Stackhouse remains open-minded, especially when it comes to Bill Compton, the handsome 173 year-old living up the road.
Get ready for the second season of True Blood® now with the latest “swag” as featured on the Louisiana Movies blog.
